INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball team will host Summit League preseason favorite North Dakota State (11-5, 0-1 Summit) on Saturday (Jan. 11) at 2:00 p.m. inside The Jungle, capping a season-long four-game homestand. Saturday's game can be seen on WRTV6 (ABC affiliate), Hometown Sports & News and ESPN3 as Greg Rakestraw (pxp) and Bob Lovell (analyst) call the action. In addition, the broadcast can be heard in Central Indiana on WNDE 1260 AM and worldwide on the free iHeartRadio app available on smartphones as Will Flemming (pxp) is on the call.

Adult reserved seats are just $10 and are available by contacting the IUPUI Athletics Department at 317-274-5453. In addition, fans in attendance will receive FREE #imajaguar sunglasses while supplies last.

Both teams come in seeking their first league wins of the year after IUPUI (5-13, 0-1) dropped an 86-70 decision to South Dakota State and NDSU lost 82-71 at IPFW on Thursday. IUPUI comes in at 7-5 all-time against NDSU, despite having lost the last two meetings.

IUPUI went tooth-and-nail against SDSU on Thursday, trailing 73-70 with 3:14 to play before the visiting Jackrabbits closed the game with a 13-0 run. The Jaguars' offense ran efficiently as they closed the game shooting 54 percent from the floor after a 16-of-26 mark in the first half. Junior Ian Chiles was IUPUI's primary culprit, finishing with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Junior Khufu Najee tallied 15 and Mitch Patton scored 14 on 7-of-11 shooting.

Do-it-all guard Marcellus Barksdale finished with 10 points and six assists, including hitting all eight of his free throw attempts.

On Thursday the Jaguars had no answer for SDSU's duo of Jordan Dykstra (26 pts, 9 reb) and Cody Larson (22 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk). Dykstra hit 10-of-18 shots, while Larson was 7-of-13 overall and 8-of-10 from the foul line. SDSU finished the game shooting 51.8 percent and outscored IUPUI 21-5 off turnovers.

North Dakota State checks in with an RPI of 25 and has wins over Notre Dame, Delaware, Santa Clara and Towson this season. The Bison boast the league's top scorer and preseason Player of the Year in senior swingman Taylor Braun (18.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg). Senior forward Marshall Bjorklund averages 15.3 points and 4.4 boards per game and is on pace to finish among the all-time leaders in career field goal percentage.

Other NDSU regulars to average double-digits include junior guard Lawrence Alexander (10.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg) and senior forward TrayVonn Wright (10.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg). Bjorklund led NDSU with 19 points in Thursday's loss at IPFW and Braun chipped in 16 points, five boards and three assists.

Braun's closest competition for the scoring race at the season's midpoint is Chiles, who comes in averaging 17.6 points per game.

IUPUI is 4-5 at home this season.

NDSU dominated the series with the Jaguars a year ago, winning 78-40 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Jan. 17 and backing it up with a 75-39 victory in Fargo on Feb. 16.
