EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The IUPUI women's soccer team is set to embark on another busy weekend as the Jaguars will first head south to play Evansville on Friday (Sept. 6) before returning home to take on Bowling Green on Sunday (Sept. 8) at Michael A. Carroll Stadium. Friday's match is expected to kickoff at 8:00 p.m. Eastern while Sunday's match is tabbed for 1:00 p.m..

"This is two very good opponents for us to continue to kind of test ourselves against," IUPUI Head Coach Chris Johnson said. "It's a little bit of a step up from where we were last weekend in terms of playing Missouri Valley (Conference) and then MAC opponents. I like our opportunities and our chances as we go forward this weekend.

"One goal we have for this week is that we kind of learn from what happened last weekend and make sure we get off the bus ready to play."

Coming off last Sunday's win over Grand Canyon, the Jaguars seek two-in-a-row when the Jaguars play Evansville (2-2) on Friday. Head Coach Chris Johnson's squad is 2-0-1 at home to start the year, but came up short in the team's lone road match thus far. Offensively, the Jaguars have gotten goals from five different players to start the season as junior Taylor Heidorn and freshman Catherine Raster lead the squad with three points each. Sophomore forward Kalli Shepler-Tucker has a team-high two assists and senior goalkeeper Giselle Guzman has a 0.93 goals against average and 19 saves in four starts.

IUPUI is 2-2 all-time against Evansville, but the two schools haven't met since 2009. The Jaguars won the last two meetings, including a 2-0 outcome in Evansville on Sept. 4, 2009.

The Purple Aces dropped a 1-0 decision at Xavier on Wednesday and are led offensively by Stephanie Thompson and Emily Griebel's two goals apiece. In goal, Simone Busby has played all 360 minutes and is 2-2 with a shutout and 14 saves.

BGSU (0-2) has dropped identical 2-1 decisions to Cleveland State and Butler to start the season, the second of which came on the road in overtime. Haley Malaczewski and Ashley Garr have accounted for the Falcons two goals this season.

IUPUI is 0-1 all-time against BGSU, losing 2-1 a year ago in Bowling Green, Ohio. The host Falcons built a 2-0 lead early in the second half before then-junior Ashley Doreski cut the lead in half with a goal in the 66th minute. However, BGSU held on for the victory.
