INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team's seven-game homestand will continue on Sunday (Sept. 29) when the Jaguars host Northern Iowa at Carroll Stadium at 1:00 p.m.. 

IUPUI (3-3-3) is 3-1-3 at home this year, but is coming off a 1-0 loss to crosstown rival Butler in a regionally televised match last Sunday. Scoring goals has become an issue of late for the Jags as IUPUI has tallied just two goals in the last five games. 

Junior Taylor Heidorn and freshman Tori Minnich continue to lead the squad with two goals each while Kalli Shepler-Tucker and Sarah Carlisle lead IUPUI with two assists each. Heidorn is IUPUI's overall points leader with five this season and has two of the team's three game-winning goals. 

Defense has been the Jaguars' calling card as the season nears its midpoint, as the goalie duo of Giselle Guzman and Nicole Kulovitz have a combined .891 save percentage and 0.72 goals against average. Guzman, who has started all nine matches and played more than 630 minutes, has yielded just five goals and made 44 saves in net. Kulovitz, who has played five halves in relief, has allowed two goals for a 0.73 GAA. 

The goalies have benefited greatly from the strong play of the back four, anchored by Kristin Pierce and Maddie Riedford in the middle and Carlisle and Lauren Kulaga on the outside. 

UNI (1-9) has also struggled offensively this season, posting six goals in 10 games. Maggie Riley leads the Panthers with three points while Mary Brandt has the team's lone game-winning goal. In goal, Nicole Postel has a 1.64 GAA and made 52 saves in 10 starts. 

IUPUI is 1-1 all-time against UNI, including a 2-0 win on Sept. 14, 2008 at Kuntz Stadium. UNI took the first-ever meeting between the two schools by a 3-0 score on Sept. 14, 2007. In the 2008 meeting, both Alicia Brock and Megan Hock scored second half goals and Jamie Farrell turned in a shutout.
