On the field, the Jaguars (4-7-3, 0-3 Summit) look to snap a four-game skid, having been blanked in all four of those outings. Last weekend, IUPUI was dumped at Indiana State 4-0 before falling at No. 17 Denver, 6-0 on Sunday.
The home turf has been kind to IUPUI all season long though, as the Jaguars are 4-3-3 at Carroll Stadium including a 2-1 victory over Northern Iowa on Sept. 29. In that contest, sophomores
Kalli Shepler-Tucker and
Grace Perkowitz scored goals and freshman
Nicole Kulovitz got the win in goal with two saves in a scoreless second half.
The offense has dried up since then, with
Tori Minnich and
Taylor Heidorn continuing to lead the club with two goals each. Shepler-Tucker and Carlisle have a team-high three assists each through 14 games.
In goal, Guzman's goals against average has risen to 1.65, while she's upped her save total to 62 in 14 starts. She and Kulovitz have combined on three shutouts this season while the Jaguars' offense has been blanked eight times.
IPFW (3-9, 0-1 Summit) has wins over Northern Iowa, Ball State and most recently a 2-1 outcome over Loyola on Oct. 9. Gaby Romo and Brooke Bishir lead the Mastodons with two goals each in 12 games. In goal, Sam Pavlika has played well, registering a 1.97 GAA and 64 saves while playing every minute this season.
IUPUI is 3-7-1 all-time against Fort Wayne and lost three-in-a-row in the series. The Jaguars won three straight against the Mastodons from 2007-09 with two of the wins coming in Indianapolis. IPFW won last year's meeting, 2-1 on Oct. 28 in Fort Wayne.
