FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IUPUI basketball team will complete its two-game Summit League trip as the Jaguars will take on Fort Wayne (9-13, 2-6 Summit) on Saturday (Jan. 26) night inside the Gates Sports Center. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the game can be heard on WNDE 1260 AM, WNDE.com and on the free iHeartRadio app as Scott McCauley (pxp) calls the action from courtside. Pregame coverage will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m..

IUPUI (6-17, 1-8 Summit) is on a seven-game slide following Thursday's 89-71 defeat to Oakland inside the Athletics Center O'rena. Senior Sean Esposito deposited a career-high 21 points, including hitting 5-of-11 treys, but OU's Travis Bader stole the show with 47 points on 11-of-18 shooting from three-point range. Bader's 47-point effort was the most by a Division I player this season and the most by an IUPUI foe in the program's Division I era.

The Jaguars fell behind by as many as 26 early in the second half, but crawled back within 11 with 6:48 left. However, IUPUI misfired on a three and Bader answered with a triple to keep the lead at double-digits the rest of the night.

Junior Donovan Gibbs finished with 15 points and senior guard Greg Rice contributed a career-high 10 assists and eight points.

Fort Wayne has lost two straight including Thursday's 43-40 defeat to Western Illinois on their home court. The Mastodons are led in scoring by senior guard Frank Gaines (18.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and junior swingman Luis Jacobo (10.5 ppg, 3.8 rpg). Gaines scored 28 points in the first meeting between the two schools, but the Jaguars escaped with a 88-74 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as John Hart led five players in double-digits. Rice added 16 points and seven assists and both Lyonell Gaines and Gibbs added 12 each.

Patton leads the IUPUI attack at 12.7 points per game while Gibbs comes in at 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

IUPUI is 25-11 all-time against the 'Dons and has won two straight in the series. The Jags last win in Fort Wayne was on Jan. 8, 2011 as IUPUI won 78-74 behind 24 points from Alex Young and 20 points and 11 rebounds from Christian Siakam.

Head Coach Todd Howard's squad has been decimated by injuries, leaving just seven healthy scholarship players at his disposal. All three freshmen are sitting out the season and expected to redshirt while top returning scorer Ian Chiles is shelved for the year due to injury. Like Chiles, sophomore swingman Marcellus Barksdale is lost for the year with an injury and the road got even tougher in early January when Hart was declared ineligible at the start of the spring semester.
