CHICAGO - Head coach Isang Jacob and the IUPUI men's soccer team will take part in the 2nd annual Chicago South Loop Hotel UIC Soccer Classic this weekend, including playing host UIC on Friday (Sept. 14) before taking on Big Ten foe Wisconsin on Sunday (Sept. 16). Friday's match will kickoff at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and Sunday's game is slated to start at 12:00 p.m. Eastern.

IUPUI (2-5) was blanked by another Horizon League foe earlier this week as the Jaguars dropped a 3-0 decision at Wright State after having gained some earlier momentum with a 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky last Sunday. Senior Kyle Hyland continues to rank among the national leaders in goals (4) and points (9) while freshman Eduardo Cortes had another busy night in goal on Wednesday. The Texas-native, who came in ranked second in the country in saves and saves per game, made nine stops to fall one short of matching his season-high.

The Jaguars missed some solid scoring chances including Ian Block having a shot go just wide of the near post on a breakaway and freshman Michael Sass hitting a crossbar on a header attempt late in the first half.

UIC (1-4) dropped back-to-back overtime decisions at home last weekend, falling to Georgetown 3-2 and Florida International 2-1. The Flames lone win of the year came at Ohio State on Aug. 26 as they kicked the Buckeyes, 2-0.

Ivan Stanisavljevic leads the Flames with six points (2 goals, 2 assists) and Ned Pavlovic has also tallied twice including the game-winner at Ohio State. Piotr Kikolski has played every minute in goal, posting a 1.53 goals against average and 17 saves in five matches. Friday's match will be the first-ever meeting between the Jags and Flames on the pitch.

Wisconsin (1-2-2) opened the year with a 4-3 win over Memphis, but has gone 0-2-2 since including losses to Florida International and Washington. Junior forward Chris Prince leads the Badgers in goals (2) and points (5) while the team's eight goals have come from seven different sources. Sophomore back A.J. Cochran is tops on the squad with two assists. True freshman Chase Rau has been the Badgers' primary goalkeeper, having started four of the team's five matches and notched a 1.82 GAA and 11 saves.

IUPUI is 2-2 all-time against Wisconsin, although the two schools haven't played since 2004. The Jaguars won the most recent meeting, 2-1 on Sept. 24, 2004 in Madison.
