INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball team will tipoff the 2012-13 campaign on Friday (Nov. 9) when the Jaguars host Utah Valley at 2:00 p.m. inside The Jungle. The game can be heard on WNDE.com and via the free iHeartRadio app available on smartphones as Scott McCauley (pxp) calls the action from courtside. Pregame coverage will begin at 1:45 p.m..

IUPUI pulled away late after leading by just two points with 6:30 left to play. Hart ignited the run at the free throw line while Patton also provided a pair of timely buckets during the decisive 17-4 run that put the game away. Even after Hart fouled out, junior #P.J. Hubert# came off the bench with five points and an assist as IUPUI continued to drive the final nail home.
Travis Malone led Trine with 14 points and six assists in the loss.
This Friday's game marks the first-ever meeting between IUPUI and Utah Valley on the hardwood and begins a home-and-home series with the Wolverines. Head coach Dick Hunsaker's team is coming off a 20-win season and an appearance in the postseason CollegeInsider.com Tournament. The Wolverines are led by junior guard Holton Hunsaker, who averaged 10.5 points and 3.3 assists a game in 33 starts a season ago.
Friday promises to be a busy and entertaining day as both the 2012 IUPUI Men's Tennis and Golf Teams will be recognized at halftime of the contest. The men's tennis team will receive their regular season championship rings after finishing 5-1 in Summit League play while the men's golf team will also be recognized, coming off the program's third-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Friday's game will also help kickoff the 2012 Jagathon, which is a six-hour dance marathon established to help raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Riley Children's Hosptial.
