TULSA, Okla. - Seeking its first road win of the season, the IUPUI men's soccer team will trek to Tulsa to take on Summit League associate member Oral Roberts at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 13) night at Case Soccer Complex.
IUPUI (4-8-2, 1-2 Summit) comes in looking to snap a two-game Summit League slide and seeking their first true road win of the season.
The Jaguars have been blanked in back-to-back Summit League matches after having opened the conference season with a 2-1 win over Eastern Illinois. Two weeks ago, Omaha blanked the Jaguars 2-0 in Omaha before Oakland knocked off the Jaguars 3-0 last Saturday (Oct. 6) at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.
Individually, senior
Kyle Hyland continues to lead The Summit and rank among the top 25 in the country in both goals (8) and points (18). Newcomers
Sean McGrath and
Michael Sass lead the attack with three assists each while Sass and
Ian Block have both scored a pair of goals.
Defensively, freshman goalkeeper
Eduardo Cortes continues to lead the country in total saves, having made 80 stops in his 13 starts.
ORU (2-9, 1-2 Summit) dropped a 2-1 count to Kansas City last weekend and hasn't won since a 5-0 drubbing at Fort Wayne on Sept. 28. The Golden Eagles are just 0-1 at home this season, having lost to Oakland 5-0 on Sept. 22. Craig Rogers leads the Golden Eagles with three goals and Gerardo Salas has four of the team's six assists.
Ryan Grashik has been ORU's top keeper, registering a 2.94 goals against average in eight starts.
IUPUI is 9-8 all-time against ORU, but has lost the two most recent meetings in the series. The Golden Eagles defeated the Jaguars 3-1 on Oct. 29 in a match played at Carmel High School. IUPUI is 4-4 in the prior eight matches played in Tulsa.
