BROOKINGS, S.D. - Riding a season-best four-game winning streak, the IUPUI basketball team will embark on a two-game Summit League swing, beginning at South Dakota State on Thursday night inside Frost Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST with pregame coverage on 88.3 The Walk beginning at approximately 7:55. Scott McCauley will handle the play-by-play duties.

IUPUI (15-10, 9-3) is coming off a banner homestand in which they knocked off the top two teams in The Summit - IPFW and Oakland. The win over IPFW saw the Jags blast out to a 20-point second half lead before clinging late for an 86-77 victory. On Saturday night, IUPUI trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, but used a 15-0 run before halftime and led the entire second half. The win snapped Oakland's 20-game Summit League winning streak as the Golden Grizzlies' last previous loss also came in Indianapolis.

For his efforts, Alex Young was pegged The Summit League Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 27.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in the two wins. Young was also tabbed The Summit League Male Athlete of the Month for the month of January on Monday.

Young was hardly the lone Jaguar to enjoy success though as classmate Stephen Thomas had back-to-back 19-point efforts, marking a new career-high and junior Christian Siakam added 16 points and 11 boards for his second double-double of the year on Saturday. Senior Leroy Nobles pumped in 23 points on Saturday as IUPUI scored 58 of its season-high 100 points in the paint. The Jaguars also outscored Oakland 29-4 at the charity stripe, hitting 85.3 percent of their attempts.

IUPUI is 6-1 all-time against South Dakota State and 2-1 in the previous three meetings in Brookings. The Jaguars rallied for an 81-76 win in Indianapolis on Jan. 15, capped by Young's steal and dunk on SDSU's final possession of the game. The Jackrabbits had the ball with a chance to tie before the junior lefty picked off a pass near midcourt and sprinted the other way for an easy jam. He led three Jaguars in double-digits with 27 points that night and Nobles added 21.
