IUPUI (16-12, 10-5 Summit) is coming off a tough loss to Southern Utah on Thursday night in game in which they squandered a 16-point lead over the final 21 minutes. Nobles led the Jaguars with 21 points, but was no match for a rejuvenated Southern Utah bench, which outscored the IUPUI reserves 58-8. The visitors hit 75 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored IUPUI 52-28 in the second half with four non-starters finishing in double-figures.
Jake Nielson led the T-Birds with 15 points and Jackson Stevenett and Matt Hodgson tallied 14 apiece.
The loss snapped IUPUI's five-game home winning streak and was only the second home defeat this season.
IUPUI dropped the earlier meeting with UMKC, 85-77 in double overtime on Jan. 20, despite a career-high 32 points from junior
Alex Young. UMKC forward Jay Couisnard led the 'Roos with 27 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Of IUPUI's four seniors, Nobles comes in one point shy of cracking the top 10 on the school's all-time scoring list and ranks sixth all-time in threes made (169). In addition, he's among the top 10 in free throws made and attempted and ranks in the top five in the program's Division I history in minutes played. Ashworth is one of just 10 players in school history to hand out over 300 career assists and is on the cusp of becoming the sixth in the program's Division I history to play over 3,000 minutes. He and Nobles have helped the Jaguars to 83 wins during their four-year careers, dating back to 2007.
