10/6/2011 12:38:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team has a busy home weekend ahead as the Jaguars will host both North Dakota State (Oct. 7) and South Dakota State (Oct. 9) at Kuntz Stadium. Friday's match will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. while Sunday's game is slated to kick at 1:00 p.m..

This weekend will also mark the return of pink jerseys on the IUPUI side.

IUPUI (1-7-4, 0-1-1 Summit) comes in seeking its first Summit League win, having lost at UMKC and played South Dakota to a 2-2 tie last Sunday. Senior Megan Hock leads the IUPUI attack with five goals while both Taylor Heidorn and Chelsi McHenry have two apiece. Hock enters this weekend tied with IUPUI Hall of Famer Karrie (Reising) Tolbert for the school record with 31 career goals, having last tallied at UMKC last Thursday.

IUPUI is 1-1-2 at home this season, but hasn't played at Kuntz since Sept. 9. The Jaguars' last six matches have all been away from home. The last time out, IUPUI trailed 2-0 late at USD, but McHenry scored in the 86th and 88th minutes to force overtime.

NDSU (9-2-1, 2-0 Summit) has gotten four goals each from Holly Christian and Katie Tallas while Abbey Moenkedick has four assists this season. Eleven different Bison have at least one goal this year while 15 total have at least a single point. In goal, Kalani Bertsch has a 1.11 goals against average and has played all but 45 minutes this year. Head Coach Chris Johnson and the Jaguars are 4-2 all-time against NDSU.

SDSU (6-5-1, 2-0 Summit) is led by Kayla Braffet's four goals and three assists and has outscored its opponents 17-14 this season. Eight different Jacks have contributed to the 17 goal total. Defensively, the Jackrabbits have gotten solid play in goal from Kat Donovan, who's posted a 1.14 goals against average in 12 games. IUPUI is just 2-4 all-time against the Jackrabbits.

Both schools swept Oral Roberts and Southern Utah at home last weekend.

In addition on Sunday, the Jaguars will be wearing pink jerseys as part of its annual 'Kick for the Cure' fundraiser. Player jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the match with the funds benefiting the American Cancer Society. Those who miss out on winning jerseys on Sunday will have the opportunity to bid online on selected pink jerseys with the auction ending next week. Last year, the Jaguars raised more than $1,500 for the American Cancer Society on the same night IUPUI beat Centenary College 3-0 on Oct. 15, 2010.
