WESTFIELD, Ind. - The 30th annual IUPUI Michael A. Carroll Golf Outing helped raise over $20,000 towards student-athlete scholarships participating in all 14 varsity sports. The event was played at the pristine Wood Wind Golf Club in Westfield on Wednesday, June 9.
The annual event, named after the former Eli Lilly Endowment executive and founder of the Jaguars (formerly Metro) Athletic Club, included a boxed lunch from Sahm's, the always popular dinner reception catered by Judge's BBQ and drinks provided by Monarch Beverage. The field of players was greeted by IUPUI's first-ever NCAA Champion, Chen Ni and heard remarks from the 2009-10 Mike Carroll Scholarship winner, Joe Hoffman.
The event boasted nearly 100 participants and 40 corporate partners while the Donohue & Associates foursome of Steve Brinegar, Don Ballard, Chris Martin and Dick Gilroy earned the team title with a best ball score of 52.
Those wishing to participate or contribute to next year's event in 2011 should contact John Rasmussen at jrrasmus@iupui.edu or by phone at 317-274-5453.
