ELMHURST, Ill. - UMKC will be the top seed at the Summit League Men's Soccer Championship presented by American Airlines for the first time in school history after claiming the regular season crown. IUPUI will be the No. 2 seed and take on No. 3 Oakland in the second semifinal on Friday afternoon. No. 4 Oral Roberts rounded out this year's postseason field.
The 2010 men's soccer tournament will be played Friday/Sunday, Nov. 12/14 on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., marking the third consecutive season at the site and the fourth time in the past five seasons.
Top seeded UMKC (10-5-2, 4-1-1 Summit) will face No. 4 ORU (5-7-5, 2-1-3) in the first game Friday at 11 a.m. ET. UMKC was selected as the preseason favorite to capture The Summit League title and ORU is making its first Summit League tournament appearance since 2007.
Head Coach Steve Franklin's IUPUI (9-7-2, 4-2-0) team will meet Oakland (5-10-3, 2-1-3) at 2 p.m. ET. The Jaguars earned their highest seed since 2007. The host Golden Grizzlies were unbeaten in home league matches this season with a 1-0-2 record. The Jaguars knocked off OU 2-1 at Kuntz Stadium on Oct. 2 behind goals from 
Matt Guy and 
Galen Cassady.
This marks the fifth straight season in which IUPUI has made the four-team postseason tournament.
Western Illinois, the 2009 champion, missed qualifying for the tournament, marking the first time since 2007 that The Summit League Men's Soccer Championship field will not include the reigning champion.
The winners of Friday's matches will play in Sunday's championship match at noon ET with the victor earning an automatic bid to the NCAA College Cup.
