PONTIAC, Mich. - The IUPUI women's soccer team's road woes continued as the Jaguars dropped a 2-0 decision to Summit League leader Oakland inside the Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac, Mich. on Friday night. OU pushed its lead to 2-0 in the 40th minute when Meghan Reynolds put a shot past Guzman for her second goal of the season.
IUPUI ramped up the intensity to start the second half, getting an early corner kick and shot attempts from junior
Alex Baer and sophomore
Kelli Parks. Parks was the only IUPUI player to put a shot on frame in the loss, getting two attempts on the mark from her defensive position.
Megan Hock and
Natalie Holland also had two attempts as IUPUI was outshot 18-10 in the loss.
Guzman made one stop before giving way to
Kristin Haseley at the start of the second half. Haseley made two saves and dropped her goals against average to 1.31 with a scoreless 45 minutes in net. OU's Payj O'Shea made two saves in earning the shutout.
IUPUI will cap the two-game roadtrip on Sunday when it takes on IPFW at Hefner Stadium in Fort Wayne at 1:00 p.m..
