INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer team will open up its 2009 Summit League slate against defending champion UMKC on Saturday night at Kuntz Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m..
IUPUI (1-5-2) has struggled offensively in the early going this year, but has given strong defensive efforts against elite competition recently. On Wednesday, the Jaguars lost at No. 24 Ohio State 1-0 on a penalty kick in the 81st minute and four of IUPUI's five losses on the year have come by a single score.

UMKC (2-4-0) recently shutout No. 23 Drake 3-0 last Sunday, helping goalkeeper Ken Cooper earn Summit League Defensive Player of the Week honors. Offensively, Bryan Perez and David Sarabia have three goals each for the 'Roos.
UMKC leads the all-time series between the two schools, 8-4 overall although the Jaguars are 4-1 in the previous five meetings in Indianapolis.
