Tipoff is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. EST (7:05 CST) with XL 950's pregame coverage beginning at 7:30. The game can also be seen on ESPN Full Court, ESPN 360, DirecTV (Ch. 617) and selected Fox College Sports stations.
Oral Roberts defeated IUPUI (14-11, 7-7) 67-58 in Indianapolis on Jan. 15 despite a career-high 24 points from junior
Robert Glenn. On Thursday, Glenn scored 20 to match
Leroy Nobles for team-high honors. Nobles' 20 points were a career-high and the 6-foot-5 swingman hit 4-of-4 from three-point range to fuel IUPUI's season-best 58.3 percent effort from deep.
IUPUI closed the first half on a 12-0 run and opened the second with an 11-2 surge to turn a five-point deficit into a 16-point lead with 16 minutes left. The Jaguars pushed the lead out to 27 late in the game before the Gents closed on a 16-1 run.
The Jaguars hit 62.2 percent from the floor and outscored Centenary 38-23 in the paint to avenge an earlier loss in Indianapolis. Head Coach
Ron Hunter's team also received an offensive lift from freshman
Alex Young, who was re-inserted in the starting lineup. Young hit 7-of-11 shots to finish with 18 points and a career-high nine rebounds. He hit back-to-back threes in the first half to help erase a five-point deficit.
Glenn enters play as a favorite for Summit League Newcomer of the Year honors, averaging 13.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. In league play, the 6-foot-7 JUCO-transfer has upped his output to 16.1 points per game, leading all league newcomers. In addition, he is one of just three players to rank among the top 10 in scoring and rebounding.
Nobles has also been hot of late, hitting 60.6 percent of his three-point attempts the past nine games and is tied for fourth in The Summit in three-point shooting at 44.4 percent.
ORU edged Western Illinois 49-46 on Thursday night, getting a defensive stop on the game's final possession to run its home league winning streak to 33. Robert Jarvis led the Golden Eagles with 17, right on his season average, and Marcus Lewis added 14 points and eight rebounds.
