SHREVEPORT, La. - The IUPUI basketball team looks to exact a measure of revenge against Centenary College on Thursday night as the two teams will square off in the Gold Dome at 8:00 p.m. EST (7 Central). Pregame coverage begins on XL 950 at 7:30.
Centenary (7-17, 5-7 Summit) stole a 58-56 win from the Jaguars on Jan. 17 when Maxx Nakwaasah tipped in a Chase Adams miss at the final buzzer. IUPUI (13-11, 6-7) comes in having won four of its past five games and just one game under .500 in The Summit.
IUPUI is coming off a 91-69 home loss to North Dakota State on Saturday night as the Bison hit 13 threes and 56 percent from the field.
Jon Avery and
Adrian Moss scored 13 apiece in the loss and
Robert Glenn added 12. The 13 were a career-high for Moss while Avery also snared a team-high seven rebounds.
Avery hit 6-of-8 shots to up his field goal percentage to 66.9 percent on the year. Senior
Gary Patterson also tallied his 1,000th collegiate point by swishing a three from the left baseline corner in the first half. Patterson now has 945 in his three-year IUPUI career and scored 55 points as a freshman at Butler.
Centenary comes in having dropped three straight including a 78-65 loss at Oakland on Saturday. Senior guard Nick Stallings leads the team in scoring (16.2 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg), three-point shooting (43.2 percent) and minutes played (36.7 mpg). His backcourt mate, Chase Adams, ranks among The Summit League leaders in assists (109) and steals (64).
IUPUI owns an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series and 3-2 edge in games played in Shreveport.
