TULSA, Okla. - Coming off its first Summit League loss of the season, the IUPUI women's soccer team will now hit the road for its final two-game league swing of the 2009 campaign. The Jaguars are scheduled to take on Oral Roberts at 7:00 p.m. CST on Friday night before heading to Centenary for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff on Sunday.
IUPUI (12-3, 4-1 Summit) is just one win shy of matching the program's all-time single-season wins record at 13 and is continuing to chase the program's second consecutive Summit League regular season title. On Sunday, the Jaguars' 12-game winning streak came to a close in a 1-0 defeat to South Dakota State at Kuntz Stadium when the Jackrabbits scored a goal in the final minute of play.
Offensively, sophomores
Megan Hock and
Alicia Brock have carried the scoring load for The Summit's top scoring bunch. Hock leads the Jaguars with eight goals, including a league leading five game-winners, while Brock has scored seven times this season.
Senior playmaker
Katrina McCrory has five goals and a team-high five assists from her center midfield position.
Defensively,
Jamie Farrell has been dominating, owning a league-best 0.68 goals against average in over 1300 minutes work. In front of her, sophomore
Margaret Allgeier helps anchor a core that recorded six shutouts during the 12-game winning streak.
ORU (5-8, 2-3 Summit) is led by Natalya Manyan's four goals in just 10 games. Tara Lomas has chipped in three goals and two assists in 12 starts and sophomore goalie Amanda Wheeler has a 1.89 goals against average in net.
Centenary (9-3-1, 1-2-1 Summit) are coming off a 2-1 win at IPFW and are led by goalkeeper Kate Donnelly. Donnelly is the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Week and has a league best .911 save percentage. She and Farrell are the only two Summit League keepers to have a goals against average under one.
