INDIANAPOLIS - Visiting Oral Roberts got 22 points from senior gunslinger Robert Jarvis and timely contributions from a pair of freshmen on its way to a 67-58 win over IUPUI in The Jungle on a frigid Thursday night.

The loss was IUPUI's third-in-a-row and dropped the Jags two games under .500 in Summit League play for the first time since 2002. IUPUI (9-8, 2-4 Summit) got a career-high 24 points from 6-foot-7 junior Robert Glenn and 15 off the bench from Leroy Nobles, but little else.

The other seven players combined to tally just 19 points on 9-of-34 (26.5 percent) shooting.

"We're not firing on all cylinders," IUPUI Head Coach Ron Hunter said. "Tonight, Rob (Glenn) was our best player, but we didn't get anything from Alex (Young). I still think we're going to be a good team once we get everyone going - it just can't happen soon enough for us.

"Right now, I don't have the answer."

IUPUI was far from good in the opening 20 minutes on Thursday as ORU (7-11, 5-1) jumped out to a 37-25 halftime lead. The Golden Eagles outscored IUPUI 18-4 over the final 6:11 of the first half after the Jaguars took a 22-21 lead on Gary Patterson's lone three of the night.

ORU shot 52 percent from the field in the first half keyed by Marcus Lewis' 5-of-5 showing in the paint. Both Lewis and Andre Hardy grabbed seven first half rebounds as ORU dominated the glass 21-12 before halftime.

The Jaguars got 16 first half points from Glenn on an array of post moves, but just nine combined from his supporting cast.

IUPUI amped up the defense to start the second half, specifically behind the play of sophomore point guard Adrian Moss. The Jaguars scored 14 straight to take a 39-37 lead before freshman Kyron Stokes stopped the bleeding with a slashing layup with 13:49 remaining.

The Jags re-established a six-point lead on a pair of Nobles' treys, but Oral Roberts finally clamped down over the final nine minutes as the Jags scored just eight points during that stretch.

Junior Billy Pettiford put IUPUI in front one last time at 54-52 with a driving layup with 4:51 to play, but Jarvis answered by swishing a 24-footer over Patterson at the opposite end to give the Golden Eagles the lead for good.

Stokes landed the final dagger, a three from the left wing, with 1:26 to play to put ORU up four. Head Coach Scott Sutton's team proceeded to hit five of its final six foul shots to preserve its fourth straight win.

Glenn hit 10-of-17 shots, grabbed seven rebounds and swatted a pair of shots in 33 minutes of action. It was the fifth time in six Summit League games he led IUPUI in scoring. Nobles netted all 15 of his points in the second half, going 5-for-8 overall from the field.

Pettiford, Moss and Patterson each handed out three of IUPUI's 13 assists while Pettiford had a game-high four steals. As a team, the Jaguars shot a pedestrian 41 percent overall and 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) from three. ORU finished hitting 51 percent from the field and 88.2 percent at the foul line.

The Golden Eagles also enjoyed a 36-26 advantage on the glass thanks to Lewis' 12 caroms. Stokes and fellow freshman Dominique Morrison combined to score six of ORU's final eight points. In fact, all of Morrison's eight points came in the final seven minutes of the contest.

The loss dropped IUPUI to 6-2 at home this season.

"We still haven't put together a full 40 minutes at home yet," Hunter said. "Our energy at the start of the second half was great, but we didn't sustain it. I don't know if it's a sign of a young basketball team, but we have to fix it."

IUPUI continues its two-game homestand on Saturday night when it hosts Centenary College inside The Jungle at 7:00 p.m.. As part of his commitment to Samaritan's Feet, Hunter will coach the game in his bare feet and has challenged his coaching colleagues nationwide to do the same.

His personal goal is to help raise one million pairs of shoes to needy children nationwide that night. The IUPUI Athletics Department urges those wishing to contribute to logon to www.SamartansFeet.org and click on the 'Donate Now' button. In addition, a shoe collection point will be setup along the concourse during Saturday's doubleheader.

That evening, adult tickets have been reduced to $7 apiece and childrens tickets are $4.

Pregame coverage begins on XL 950 at 6:30 p.m. and the game can be seen on IUPUI LIVE! as part of a subscription service.
