FARGO, N.D. - After grinding out a victory at South Dakota State on Thursday, the IUPUI basketball team looks to build upon its current five-game winning streak at North Dakota State on Saturday night. The Jaguars (18-5, 10-2 Summit) are currently second in The Summit League standings, while NDSU (12-11, 6-6) sits tied for fifth.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST.
IUPUI won the previous meeting between the two schools, 60-46 in The Jungle on Jan. 10. Saturday marks the Jaguars' first-ever trip to "The Peace Garden State".
"The road in this league is always tough," IUPUI head coach Ron Hunter said. "You have to get up for every game. We're going to continue to go out and do what we do, which is get good looks on offense and not turn the ball over.
"Hopefully, those two things will lead us to victory."
Entering this week, IUPUI led the nation in three-point shooting and ranked in the top five in the country in field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
On Thursday,
George Hill scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the second half to lead the Jags to a 70-56 win at SDSU. Hill scored 13 straight points in a late run that pushed a seven-point lead to a 14-point edge with just under eight minutes to play. Hill finished the night 8-of-12 from the floor, accompanying five rebounds and four assists.
Jon Avery had 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting off the bench and
Gary Patterson and
Austin Montgomery scored 11 each.

North Dakota State boasts a formidable quartet of juniors in guard Ben Woodside (21.0 ppg, 5.2 apg), forward Brett Winkelman (19.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg), Mike Nelson (14.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg) and Lucas Moormann (5.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg). The Bison lead The Summit in scoring at 78.7 points per game and rebounding with 36.3 boards a night and rank second in three-point shooting (38.1%).
