FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Coming off a disappointing loss at Oakland on Thursday night, the IUPUI basketball team hopes to regain its winning form against IPFW inside Memorial Coliseum on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EST with Freedom 95.9 FM's pregame coverage beginning at 3:30.

IUPUI (21-6, 13-3 Summit) had its eight-game winning streak snapped at Oakland on Thursday by a score of 84-69. The 84 points were the most by an IUPUI opponent this season and the 15-point margin was the largest defeat of the year. Junior George Hill led the Jags with 19 points and Austin Montgomery netted 15, including hitting 3-of-5 from downtown.

The Jags led 38-36 at halftime and built a six-point second half lead before a decisive 22-4 run helped Oakland run away with the victory, which was televised on Fox Sports Net. After hitting eight first half treys, the Jags went 0-of-5 over the final 20 minutes. On the flip side, Oakland drained 6-of-7 second half threes.

In addition, OU outrebounded the Jags by a comfortable 34-18 margin and outscored IUPUI 27-5 at the free throw line.

IUPUI has already matched its Division I record with 21 wins this season and a win over IPFW would match the program's highest win total since the 1995-96 season, head coach Ron Hunter's second on the sidelines. Hill comes in two points shy of 1,500 in his college career and is on the cusp of amassing 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists at IUPUI.

The Jags are seeking a season sweep over IPFW (12-14, 9-6) and their sixth straight win overall against the Mastodons. In this year's previous meeting, IUPUI won handily 77-59 on Jan. 26 as Hill scored 33 on 11-of-17 shooting. Austin Montgomery added 15 points in that victory while Jaraun Burrows paced the 'Dons with 19 points and seven rebounds.
