INDIANAPOLIS - Coming off a historic three-point shooting effort, the IUPUI basketball team looks to run its home winning streak to 13 games on Saturday night as it plays host to UMKC (8-15, 3-7 Summit) in The Jungle. Tip time is slated for 7:00 p.m. EST and pregame coverage with Greg Rakestraw begins on Freedom 95.9 FM at 6:30. 

The game can also be seen as part of the SummitTV package as Scott McCauley (pbp) and Kerry Vick (color) call the action. 

On Thursday night, IUPUI (16-5, 8-2) used a monumental three-point shooting effort to dispatch of Southern Utah, 88-66 in The Jungle. As a team, the Jaguars hit a school record 19 threes on just 32 attempts, finishing at 59.4 percent. The monster night vaulted the Jaguars from tenth in the nation to No. 1 in the country in three-point shooting percentage at 42.9 percent. 

Junior Gary Patterson turned in the most prolific shooting night in the nation this season, hitting 11-of-15 from three-point range en route to a career-high 37 points. Patterson's 11 treys are the most by a Division I player this year and established a new IUPUI Division I record. He shared the previous mark with nine makes in a game. 

Fellow junior George Hill chimed in with 13 points on just 3-of-5 shooting from the floor and Austin Montgomery added nine points. Playing extended minutes, senior center #Bill Van Senus grabbed a career-high seven boards and freshman guard John Ashworth# scored a season-best six points off the bench. 

The win was IUPUI's 12th straight at home, also setting a new program record at the Division I level. Previously, IUPUI had won 11-in-a-row in The Jungle over the course of the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.

On Saturday, IUPUI eyes a season sweep of UMKC after collecting a 77-72 win over the 'Roos at Municipal Auditorium on Jan. 3. Hill scored a career-high 34 points in that victory.

IUPUI will celebrate 'Favorite Professor Night' at halftime of Saturday's game and will also honor the Hall of Fame Class of 2008 during the evening. This year's inductees are former women's tennis star Natalie Bednar, former men's soccer standout Ben Higginbotham and former women's basketball star Tiffany Kyser.
