KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Winners of three of its past four contests, the IUPUI basketball team seeks its third straight win as it heads north to take on Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from University Arena and the game can be heard locally on XL 950 with Greg Rakestraw on the call. 

Western Michigan leads the all-time series 4-1 as IUPUI got its first-ever win over the Broncos a year ago in Indianapolis. Billy Pettiford scored a then career-high 16 points in the victory and George Hill led all scorers with 21 points on just nine field goal tries. Derek Drews led four Broncos in double-digits with 14 points. 

IUPUI (3-2) is fresh off its first-ever victory inside Conseco Fieldhouse as the Jags knocked off Eastern Illinois 67-60 on Tuesday night. Freshman Alex Young netted a career-high 20 points and hit 4-of-7 from three-point range. Sophomore Leroy Nobles added a career-high 19 points in 36 minutes work. 

Pettiford reached double figures for the first time this season with 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field. The Jaguars drilled a season-best eight threes and held EIU to just 36 percent shooting in the second half. 

WMU enters play with a 2-4 record after defeating Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas on Tuesday night. Drews hit a three with eight seconds left to secure the victory. WMU's Shawntes Gary led all players with 16 points and Drews finished with 13. The Broncos top scorer, junior David Kool, was held to seven points on 2-of-12 shooting.
