INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball team will play host to Western Michigan on Saturday night in The Jungle with tipoff slated for 7:00 p.m.. IUPUI (6-2) is riding a five-game winning streak while WMU (4-5) enters off a tough two-point loss at Northwestern last Saturday.
IUPUI is 0-4 all-time against Western Michigan, including a pair of one-point losses on the road during the series. Saturday's game marks the front end of a home-and-home series, with the Jaguars slated to return to Kalamazoo next season.
IUPUI comes into play ranked No. 24 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. The Broncos received votes toward a ranking and were picked to win the Mid-American Conference West Division before the season.
Former MAC Freshman of the Year David Kool leads the club in scoring at 14.0 points per game.
IUPUI's most recent victory came at Western Illinois last weekend as the Jaguars rolled past the Leathernecks, 64-47. Sophomore Billy Pettiford tallied a career-high 16 points while junior George Hill notched his third straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
